Bandung2 |
Bandung2 is a global movement of individuals committed to replacing the system of White Supremacy (Racism) with a system of Justice based on principles defined in The Qu'ran (The Proclamation of/from God/Allah to humanity).
Bandung2 is not a group or organisation or another Muslim club, in fact its name is irrelevant, but its purpose is clear and precise.
"For The Oppressed, By The Oppressed”
Who are “the oppressed”? Before this question can be answered, we need to know what oppression is and who the oppressors are.
Oppression can be defined in a number of different ways. We take the view that it refers to
"the use of force to displace a person or thing from his, her or its rightful place."
Various forms of oppression exist in the world including political repression, economic exploitation, gender discrimination, child abuse, animal rights violations, environmental destruction etc. All of these forms of oppression are injustices and must be confronted and eradicated by any and all legitimate means available. The Bandung2 movement is committed to seeing this happen.
However, we take the view that the dominant form of oppression in the contemporary world is Racism (White Supremacy).
White Supremacy (Racism) is the dominant contemporary system that functions in
all major areas of people activity, including economics, education,
entertainment, labour, language, law, politics, religion, sex and war. Racism
(White Supremacy) is a globally-operating system of power relations based on
colour and factors associated with colour[1] in
which those who classify themselves as ‘White’ dominate, subjugate, enslave, and
thereby oppress, those they classify as non-White.
It is important to appreciate that not all ‘White’ people are
White
Supremacists (Racists), but all White Supremacists (Racists) are ‘White’ people.
However, White people who are not White Supremacists (Racists) but who do not
work to replace White Supremacy (Racism) with Justice are beneficiaries of the
system of White Supremacy (Racism). All non-White people are victims of Racism
(White Supremacy) and forced to submit to this system, willingly or unwillingly.
The dominant form of oppression in the contemporary world is the oppression practiced by ‘White’ people who are White Supremacists (Racists) against non-White people who are their victims.
According to The Qur'an, oppression of the 'other' leads to oppression of the 'self' and this applies to both ACTIVE oppression as well as the PASSIVE oppression that results from INACTION or NON-ACTION, i.e. a failure to act - allowing oppression to continue to exist by "sitting on the fence". On this basis, and with respect to the system of White Supremacy (Racism), we maintain that
White Supremacists (Racists) are ACTIVE oppressors;
White people who are not White Supremacists (Racists) and yet are not acting to replace White Supremacy (Racism) with Justice are PASSIVE oppressors;
Non-White victims of Racism (White Supremacy) who are not acting to replace White Supremacy (Racism) with Justice are also PASSIVE oppressors.
It is time to move beyond the oppression of 'self' and 'other' and put persons and things back in their rightful places.
In this struggle, we draw our inspiration from The Qur’an (The Proclamation of/from God/Allah to humanity), and hold fast to the conviction that the injustice and oppression associated with the system of White Supremacy (Racism) must be replaced with the Justice and Peace of Al-Islam, a counter-system based on voluntary self-surrender to God/Allah, in which human beings are liberated from slavery to others and slavery to themselves, and in which supremacy is for God/Allah alone.
A call to prepare for “Bandung Day”
Finally, Bandung2 aims to function as a form of counter-advertising, preparing all the oppressed peoples of the world for the announcement of “Bandung Day”, a global event signalling the end of White Supremacy (Racism) that will be achieved by decoupling completely from the capitalist (RIBA-nomic) economic system and the military-industrial complex which maintains its global hegemony. This decoupling is to be facilitated through the implementation of a strategic programme of NON-PARTICIPATION in this system.
